Martin and Vivien are photographers based in Gweek, near Helston, Cornwall
Photography has been my passion for over 30 years. My first love is black and white film work, and I use Pentax 6×7 and a Bronica ETS medium format cameras, but also have a few other Pentax 35mm cameras that are used when weight is an issue. I develop and print all my own work in my purpose built ‘Shed’ in the garden. I also embrace the digital world from time to time with my Leica d-lux4 and a Pentax K20D.
I have always enjoyed being an enthusiastic member of local camera clubs wherever I have lived and I became a member of the RPS in 1980. I serve on the committee for the SW region and was the Regional Organiser 2013 to 2015. In 1981 I gained my Licentiateship and my Associateship 20 years later in 2001.
I came to photography later in life but find all aspects of it quite exciting. I joined Helston Photographic Club in 2007 where I was encouraged to develop my interest in the subject and also serve on the committee. I also met and married Martin!
I became a member of the RPS in 2008 resulting in attaining my Licentiateship in 2009 with Martin’s encouragement and belief in me. I have dabbled a little in film processing but mostly I use my Canon 7D and a smaller Canon G1x for lighter work.
I gained my Associateship of the RPS in the Visual Art category on 2013.
I have recently become quite excited by the tactile feel of alternative processes, combining them with modern technology.
